Core Generation Workflows
MiniMax H3 Max supports two primary input modes for creating video shots:
Text-to-video: Users enter a detailed scene description, including framing, camera movement, lighting, and subject details
Image-to-video: Users upload a reference first frame, with an optional reference last frame, to anchor the visual composition and define the motion between the two points. Output clips match the aspect ratio of the source reference image.
All generation runs in a dedicated workspace that stores your prompts, model settings, and finished video takes together for easy comparison and iterative revisions.
Available Generation Settings
Users can adjust four core parameters for every generation before submitting a request:
Model: Choose between Turbo, the lower-cost faster generation option, and the full Standard model
Frame: Select output aspect ratios including 16, 9, and 1 to match project requirements
Duration: Generate clips from 5 seconds up to 10 seconds long
Resolution: Export at 480P, 768P, or 1080P, with higher resolutions using more credits
Credit Pricing Structure
Generations are charged using whole credits based on your selected model, resolution, and exact clip length:
5 second Turbo clips cost 1 credit
10 second Turbo clips cost 2 credits
5 second Standard clips cost 2 credits
10 second Standard clips cost 4 credits
15 second Standard clips cost 5 credits
All 480P and 768P generations use the credit rates above, while 1080P generations use up to 10 credits for maximum length clips. A live credit estimate is displayed before you submit any generation request.
Monthly Plan Tiers
The platform offers three recurring monthly billing plans for users who need regular generation access:
Starter ($20/month): 33 credits per month, full access to Standard and Turbo models, text prompts and reference frame uploads, MP4 downloads, and persistent task history
Pro ($40/month): 66 credits per month, all features included in the Starter plan
Enterprise ($150/month): 250 credits per month, all features included in lower tiers
All new users get 1 free 5-second 480P Turbo generation without requiring a login. Signing up for an account adds 5 extra free generation credits.
Prompt Best Practices
The platform provides pre-built editable prompt templates to help users get consistent results faster:
Product film slow reveal shots that keep the subject stationary while the camera moves in
Vertical format shots that keep the subject centered with empty space above for added captions
Material close-up shots with locked cameras that only show small, controlled movements
Wide establishing shots with slow horizontal pans to keep the horizon level
