Supported Calculation Formulas

The calculator uses standardized US and metric unit conversion rules with no hidden rounding:

• Cubic feet = total area in square feet × (depth in inches ÷ 12)

• Cubic yards = total cubic feet ÷ 27

• US tons = (cubic feet × density in lb/ft³) ÷ 2000

• Metric calculations use cubic meters from square meters × depth in meters, with final results still converted to US tons to match North American supplier standards.

• Circular area calculation automatically converts entered diameter values to radius to avoid extra manual math.
