Carrier Pidge is not an instant messaging app. It intentionally builds waiting into the user experience, so messages get room to feel intentional rather than part of a constant stream of notifications. There is no read receipt functionality, and no pressure to reply immediately when a message lands.

Supported Workflow

The standard user workflow for sending a note follows four simple steps:

1. Write: Select a confirmed friend from your contact list, then compose your personal note.

2. Release: Attach your note to a digital carrier pigeon and send it on its way.

3. Watch: Track the pigeon's visible flight across a map that shows its route and updated estimated arrival time.

4. Receive: Open the message only when the pigeon lands at the recipient's approximate roost area.

Privacy Features

Carrier Pidge never collects or shares exact user locations. It only uses broad, approximate regional areas to calculate flight distance and generate travel routes. No continuous background location tracking runs while the app is in use, so users never expose their home address, street address, or real-time position to their contacts or to the platform.

User Access

The platform works anywhere globally, and supports multiple languages. To connect with new contacts, users share their personal Carrier Pidge link through external common social apps. New connections request access by username, and only become part of a user's approved contact flock after the user manually confirms the request. Only confirmed contacts can send or receive messages with each other.
