Metal Font Generator

Metal Font Generator - A studio for dimensional type. Create custom 3D metallic lettering for titles, posters, and covers directly in your browser.

Launched today

Metal Font Generator is a free online browser tool that lets users create custom 3D metal lettering with full control over finish, perspective, extrusion depth, lighting, and letter spacing. It is built for designers, art directors, visual creators, and teams who need to generate polished dimensional text for posters, album covers, title cards, brand concepts, and campaign visuals without installing dedicated 3D software. All previews are rendered live, and users can export their finished work as a high-resolution transparent PNG file with no paid subscription required.

Core Capabilities

Metal Font Generator runs entirely in your browser with no software installation required. You enter a short word of up to 12 characters into the workbench, and see a live interactive preview that updates immediately after every adjustment. You can modify the following parameters for your metal lettering:

  • Orbit / viewing angle, from front-facing to 3/4 perspective to full profile view

  • Extrusion depth in pixels, to make letters thin like a machined plate or thick like a solid block

  • Lighting brightness, to control where highlights fall across the metal surface

  • Letter tracking / spacing, to compact the word into a tight logotype or spread letters out for a spaced, architectural feel

  • Material finish, including polished steel, copper, black chrome, and brushed alloy

Supported Use Cases

The tool is built for real design work across multiple use cases:

  • Brand designers can quickly test wordmark direction before building a full identity system

  • Art directors can generate polished title treatments for pitch decks without opening heavy 3D applications

  • Musicians and filmmakers can draft cover typography, opening titles, and credit sequences

  • Social media teams can make custom campaign motifs that do not rely on generic pre-made text effects

  • Students and independent creators can practice dimensional typography, explore legibility rules, and save promising directions for later full production work

Material Guide

Each finish carries a distinct visual character that fits specific project types:

  • Polished steel: Cool, durable, exact. Ideal for technology brands and industrial design themes.

  • Copper: Warm, tactile, aged. Works well for music releases, fashion graphics, and restaurant identities.

  • Black chrome: High contrast, dramatic, premium. Best for gaming titles, automotive concepts, and nightlife campaigns.

  • Brushed alloy: Soft directional grain, balanced between industrial and refined. Suitable for product launches, architecture presentations, and editorial covers.

Export Details

All finished lettering can be downloaded directly as a 2400 × 1200 PNG file with a fully transparent background. This format works for placing the generated text on top of any other background in your existing design workflow. The output is raster artwork. It is not an installable font file, editable vector file, or automatically drawn custom logo. If your project needs those formats, you can use the exported PNG as a visual reference for a separate later production pass.

Pricing and Access

All current features of the workbench are 100% free to use with no mandatory subscription. You can enter text, test all four material finishes, adjust every control, and download unlimited transparent PNG files at no cost. Any future paid AI features, if added, will have separate terms and will not be assumed to be part of the existing free workflow.

Usage Limitations

The tool does not generate Unicode metal text characters that you can copy and paste directly into chat windows or text documents. Metallic reflections, extrusion depth, and perspective are image-only effects, so they cannot be preserved in plain text. You must download the PNG file to carry the full finished appearance across different apps and layouts. You are responsible for verifying rights to any underlying fonts, reference materials, and trademarks before using exported artwork for commercial projects.
