ImageLayered

ImageLayered - AI-Powered Image Layer Separation

Launched today

ImageLayered is an AI tool that separates any flat image into named, editable RGBA layers. It eliminates the need for manual masking or Photoshop skills to split images into independent elements you can move, recolor, replace, or export. This tool is built for designers, content creators, and photo editors who want to speed up their image editing workflows without manual selection work.

Core Workflows

ImageLayered offers two primary processing modes to match different user needs:

  • Quick mode: One-click image splitting that generates default layer outputs in seconds.

  • Precision mode: Lets users select the exact number of layers (from 2 to 13 total, including the base layer) and add custom written requirements to specify exactly what elements to extract as separate layers. For example, users can request a dedicated layer for every person in a group photo.

Key Capabilities

All processing outputs named, transparent RGBA layers with automatically reconstructed hidden background areas. The AI fills in the parts of the original background that were covered by separated objects, so each exported layer is fully usable for further editing. Users can recursively decompose existing layers to add more granular splits, for deeper refinement that adapts to complex image content. No manual selection, masking, or retouching steps are required after initial upload. Each layer can be edited independently, including resizing, recoloring, moving, or replacing individual objects without making changes to other parts of the original image.

Pricing

The service charges $0.10 per output layer, and users are only billed for the actual number of layers they generate. There are no upfront fees, and users only pay for the outputs they choose to keep. The maximum total layer count per processed image is 12 layers plus the base background layer.

Comparison With Photoshop

ImageLayered is built for fast automated image decomposition, and differs from traditional Photoshop workflows in these ways:

  • AI handles full automatic layer separation, instead of requiring manual user work

  • No prior editing experience is required to get started, users can upload an image and begin processing immediately

  • Transparent layers and inpainted hidden background areas are generated automatically by the AI, no manual retouching work is needed

  • It is optimized for quickly decomposing existing flat images, while Photoshop remains the better choice for final detailed design and editing work.

Underlying Model

The tool's Quick mode runs on the open source Qwen Image Layered model, released under the Apache 2.0 license by the Qwen team. The full public model repository is hosted on GitHub. All tools under the same product family share a single credit balance for users, including companion AI photo tools for other image processing tasks.
